How could I not be tempted by this............
Skeletons! Pin ups! And it's yellow! As a lady who likes colour but also enjoys a healthy dose of the morbid this skirt might as well be made for me. The skirt is part of the Poppy's Papercuts collaboration for Spring/Summer. I defy you not to fall in love with at least one, if not all, of the pieces in this collaboration. The prints are bold, vibrant and full of beautiful details that will make you feel like a walking work of art!
The skirt is also high waisted and.................(you might want to take a seat for this)...............has pockets. Not enough clothes have pockets in, whenever I discover a dress or skirt with pockets it immediately takes it up a notch.
Deep pockets = skirt satisfaction. It's also a perfect retro length. It'd look much better with some heels and a dressier top but I'm still limited shoes-wise after getting a new foot tattoo and I wore it to work as I couldn't wait for the weekend.
Even at work I got lots of compliments on it and I think it'll be a summer staple for me as it's so versatile. I got it in a 10 and predictably it's a little tight as I'm about an '11' at the moment but it was still comfortable enough to wear all day.
There is also a matching top coming soon which I will probably cave in and end up buying (it's a halter with pom-poms). The only thing with Tara Starlet is that they are the pricer end of pin up purchases. I've been lusting over the Penelope Chilli print dress but just can't justify the £110 price tag. The Fiesta Skirt was £88 and I only parted with that because it was one of those I'd have regretted for ages if I didn't get (something I learned from not getting their Eliza suit combo last winter). I love it so much that I'm not worrying about the price - any time I do I'll just take another look at that amazing print and forget all about it.....
